Opel Kadett B Caravan – honest, long-distance proven classic, ready to drive

For sale is my Opel Kadett B Caravan – not a polished, fully restored collector’s item, but an honest and truly road-ready classic that has spent years doing exactly what it was built for – driving.

Over the past 16 years, the car has been regularly used during the summer and has repeatedly proven what it’s capable of: long-distance trips from Austria to southern Spain and Norway – all without issues, reliably and breakdown-free. Get in, drive off, arrive.

Technically, the Kadett is in good condition.

The clutch has around 50,000 km of use. The differential was professionally rebuilt about 4 years ago (crown wheel/pinion and bearings replaced).

Over the years, continuous investment has been made in the mechanicals: radiator, wheel bearings, brakes, and hoses have been renewed or refurbished.

The electrical system has also been improved (wiring, spark plugs, distributor cap, ignition coil) and converted to electronic ignition – resulting in a noticeably smoother and more reliable engine.

Carburetor gaskets were overhauled a few years ago.

Visually, the car deliberately wears its history: patina, scratches, and dents are present.

But that’s exactly what makes it the perfect companion for anyone who actually wants to use a classic car without constantly worrying about the paint.
