Vintage & Prestige is proud to offer this stunning example of Minerva Type AA 16H.P.
This Beautiful Minerva is located in the north of Italy, sitting in a collection of cars that have all been restores by the late owner, who was a very well known and respected engineer of the area.
The car was found in Spain sometimes in the 60s and took the late owner of the car about 20 years to fully restore it. The bodywork has been brought up to incredible standards and now presents a slight patina to it which really adds to the look of the car; the hardest part of the restoration was the engine.
This Minerva runs a 16hp sleeve valve engine, something that in the 60s was never heard of in Italy, and those were not the times where you could jump on your computer and look up all the informations you needed about it.
The late owner had only one choice, make contact with people that knew what he was looking at, the only person he could find, was a colonel in Belgium, who had access to a museum where one of this engines was torn apart and displayed on stand.
There is about 200 letters exchanged between the two over the course of 20 years with informations, pictures and details that helped the late owner to restored this beautiful Minerva to the standard it deserves.
The car has now been sitting on stands for a while and will probably need some light recommissioning before going on the road again.
This 1908 Minerva Type AA is a truly stunning machine and the attention to details that went during the restoration process is just unbelievable, the car presents beautifully and has been extremely well loved by the late owner who displayed it at the front of his garage, surrounded by a wall of windows as it's greatest pride and joy.
It's always breathtaking to come across such incredible stories that brings us petrolheads to really think about our passion.
It can be seen strictly by appointment only in the north of Italy.
