A beautiful and highly sought-after 1961 Maserati 3500 GT is offered for sale, featuring the rare original Weber carburetor configuration in Azzurro Vincennes Metallizzato with red Connolly leather interior. This is the first time the car has been publicly offered for sale and it has remained in the same ownership since 1995. The car is matching numbers and matching colors, with all technical and aesthetic characteristics corresponding correctly to the factory specifications.
This stunning Maserati 3500 GT was delivered in April 1961 to the Swiss importer Martinelli & Sonvico in its current color combination and equipped with Weber carburetors from new. The car is fitted with a 5-speed ZF gearbox that operates effortlessly smoothly. It was imported during the 1990s. The original Swiss owner, who is still alive today, is a doctor based in St. Gallen. The car later passed into the hands of the current owner, who has continuously maintained and regularly driven it.
Over the years, the car received a new exhaust system. The paintwork has been refinished at some point, although the panel gaps remain excellent. Parts of the leather interior are still original. The engine runs extremely smoothly and starts immediately. In April 2024, the braking system was overhauled and a new master brake cylinder was installed. The clutch is new, and both the rear axle and gearbox are dry.
The car is ready for the summer and perfectly suited for exploring the smallest roads of Italy.
