Description

This truly stunning low ownership, low mileage Jensen Interceptor was first registered on the 13th October 1972 making it one of the 6400 Interceptor III’s ever made. Produced from 1971 to 1976, these beautiful, iconic British GT’s were equipped with the 7.2 litre V8 engine with an incredibly smooth three speed automatic gearbox. With Italian styling by Carrozzeria Touring of Italy, British craftsmanship, the Interceptor was and is a sleek, stylish fastback with a luxurious leather upholstery equipped with a reliable, powerful US drivetrain offering incredible performance. The Jensen Interceptor is a true mix of American muscle, British luxury and Italian styling, a true icon with an incredible combination few other cars can claim DRJ 349L spent almost thirty years with one owner in Merseyside, purchasing the car in 1983. MOT's show the car had little over 50,000 during the 1980's and from 1989 to 1999 the Jensen was MOT tested most years covering just 1000 miles over the ten years. In 2000, the Interceptor was taken off the road for seven years and treated to a bare metal, rolling shell body restoration and full re-paint. Photographs detail various metal work being carried out on what looked an incredibly original car still in its original colour combination. A huge file of invoices from Jensen parts suppliers are with the car showing an incredible level of detail going into the car.

The Interceptor was put back on the road, once again being used by its long term owner sparingly covering just another 1000 miles until he finally parted with the car in 2021. Since 2021 the Jensen has covered 500 miles with good maintenance records and the car now arrives with us having covered 54,500 miles and it presents in beautiful condition with stunning paintwork and chrome, excellent wheels, rubbers and trims. The car has recently picked up a prize at local show level and presents in outstanding condition throughout. The upholstery has a delightful aged feel to it, it would seem this has never been left to deteriorate and it's clear low ownership and low mileage has ensured this car has retained as much originality as possible. The engine bay is particularly impressive, and on the road in typical Jensen fashion the car offers incredible performance, luxury and comfort. Arriving with us in excellent mechanical order throughout, this Interceptor III is a wonderful motor car that is a car to own with absolute pride
