Description
The Jaguar XKR Convertible combines effortless British luxury with genuine performance. Introduced as the supercharged flagship of the XK8 range, it is powered by a 4.0-litre V8 producing 370bhp and 387lb-ft of torque, driving through a smooth five-speed automatic gearbox. With 0-60mph in around 5.2 seconds and a top speed electronically limited to 155mph, it was one of Jaguar's fastest models of its era.
Elegant styling, a long bonnet and classic Jaguar grille are complemented by larger alloy wheels, a mesh grille and subtle rear spoiler, while the folding roof adds an open-air dimension to its grand-touring character. Inside, the XKR delivers the traditional Jaguar blend of leather, burr walnut and refinement, with power-adjustable seats, climate control and a premium audio system. Navigation and self-levelling Xenon headlights were fitted as standard, while adaptive cruise control was available as an option. The original XK8's sumptuous cabin famously prompted Jeremy Clarkson to liken it to sitting inside Blenheim Palace.
This 2000 example has had five former keepers from new, with our vendor owning it for the past six years. It's finished with sleek dark blue paintwork over a cream leather interior, an ageless specification that complements the design perfectly. The wheels have been specified in a gorgeous dark grey, further adding to the car's aggressive styling and discreet performance credentials.
