Description
Dr. Gulia, from Rome, Italy, was overjoyed with her new BMW 320i convertible in the fall of 1994. This BMW convertible, with its exceptionally tasteful color combination of Madeira Black metallic paint and black leather seats, accompanied her from 1994 until September 2005, when it was sold back to Germany from Italy. Dr. Gulia clearly took excellent care of the BMW.
In 2005, BMA Autovertriebs GmbH brought the BMW back to Germany and deregistered it. It spent the following winter unregistered in a garage.
In June 2005, Allround Auto und Motorradvermietung GmbH purchased the car and registered it again in Germany.
Three months later, in September 2005, I bought the BMW from the company. I drove the BMW for 21 years, only during the summer months from April to October. Assuming it doesn't snow in Rome, it never saw snow or ice. Accordingly, its condition is original except for a modern radio.
I took the car to the garage for a check-up every two years before its mandatory vehicle inspection (TÜV). Since last year, it has been registered as a classic car (H-Zulassung) with a reduced tax rate. Three years ago, I had all the seats reupholstered in leather and fitted the car with a new suspension.
The BMW is a true four-seater convertible with a semi-automatic soft top.
The 320i six-cylinder engine is perhaps the best engine BMW has ever built. The car handles like it's on rails and is really fast. However, driving a convertible above 160 km/h (100 mph) is only fun to a limited extent. I took the car to Italy again last year. The BMW never let me down on any of my trips. Since the children are grown, I bought a smaller car and am parting with my BMW with a heavy heart.
