The successor to the DB2/4 Mark II, the DB2/4 Mark III—often simply called the DB Mark III, even at the time—was introduced in 1957 and remained in production until 1959, lasting just two years. This model featured an enlarged inline-six engine delivering 164 horsepower as standard. Buyers could opt for Girling disc brakes, a Laycock-de Normanville overdrive, and an automatic transmission. Standard features included worm-and-sector steering, a live rear axle, and twin SU carburetors. A total of 551 units were produced, with only 84 of them being Drophead Coupés.
According to its original build sheet, this particular Mark III was first delivered to Paris on 6 June 1958 to Enterprise Andre Laine, which appears to have been a Champagne producer. The car was originally finished in black with an Off-White Connolly leather interior and came equipped with a desirable manual gearbox and front disc brakes. By the mid-2000s, it was in the possession of Matthias Löhr from Bocholt, Germany, before joining The Curated Collection in May 2005.
Today, the car is presented in a striking green exterior, complemented by a matching green soft-top roof and protective tonneau cover. The interior features green leather upholstery, green carpets, and door panels, contrasted by a black dashboard and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. The vehicle comes with its original tool kit, a copy of its Aston Martin build sheet, registration documents and a FIVA identification card.
This exceptionally rare left-hand-drive Mark III Drophead would be a prized addition to any classic car collection and is sure to attract attention from enthusiasts and marque collectors alike.
