Porsche's 993-generation 911 was introduced in 1993, replacing the 964 generation, and signalled a major step forward for Porsche's signature model as the 21st Century approached. Often regarded as the best 911 produced, the 993 was the final generation powered by the air-cooled flat-six engine that had been the 911's calling card for the previous thirty years, before Porsche pivoted towards water cooling. The 993 was also the first generation to have a six-speed manual transmission fitted. Like the other 911s before it, the 993 was offered in a number of specifications during its production life including two-and-four-wheel drive, hard-and-soft top, and the rare Targa roof. Unlike previous 911 Targas, the 993 generation brought a sleek, modern approach, with an electrically operated sliding glass sunroof, allowing for year-round usability.

Presented in understated silver with a recently fitted set of wheels, this 993 combines rarity, usability and investment appeal in equal measure. What's more, it's powered by Porsche's desirable VarioRam flat-six engine, introduced for the last few years of production and resulting in a 15% increase in power over earlier models. Showing 75,000 miles from new, it has covered modest mileage for a Porsche 911 of this era, renowned for its durability, practicality and long-distance usability. As one of the most sought-after variants of Porsche's final air-cooled 911 generation, this 993 Targa represents an increasingly scarce opportunity to acquire a truly special example of an automotive icon. and has been carefully dry-stored and kept under cover throughout.
