The Porsche 993 holds a particularly important place in the history of the 911. It was the final generation powered by Porsche’s legendary air cooled flat six engine, yet it also introduced a far more modern chassis, improved suspension and a level of refinement that made the 911 considerably easier to enjoy on a daily basis. It represents the closing chapter of the classic air cooled era and remains one of the most recognisable and desirable generations of the Porsche 911.
This early Porsche 993 Carrera 2 Coupé was delivered new by Porsche Zentrum Osnabrück on 23 September 1994. Its 3.6 litre flat six produces 272 horsepower, sent exclusively to the rear wheels through the four speed Tiptronic transmission. The car was ordered in the beautiful and rarely seen colour L39C Midnight Blue Metallic, combined with a grey leather interior. It is an understated and particularly elegant colour combination that suits the clean lines of the 993 perfectly.
The factory specification is exceptionally complete for an early 993 Carrera. In addition to the Tiptronic transmission and its corresponding steering wheel controls, the car was equipped with heated comfort seats, electrically adjustable seat height, air conditioning, cruise control, an onboard computer, the Porsche sound package, a rear window wiper and a green tinted windscreen with a darker upper band. Further equipment includes headlamp washers, an alarm system, a remote controlled immobiliser, a 75 litre fuel tank, electrically adjustable headlights, electric windows, power steering and the classic 17 inch Cup wheels. The car has now covered 82,945 kilometres. More importantly, this mileage is supported by an extensive collection of service records, workshop invoices and German inspection reports. The documented history begins with the original delivery and continues through numerous recorded maintenance visits, many of them carried out by the same German Porsche Centre and carefully stamped in the original service book. Classic Data awarded the car its highest condition classification, Zustand 1. The Porsche remained in Germany until 2026 and passed its most recent German technical inspection in October 2025 without any recorded defects.
Two original keys with remote controls remain with the car, together with the original leather Porsche document wallet, service book, owner’s manuals, workshop invoices, valuation report, German registration documents and supporting inspection records. The result is a remarkably complete and transparent history file, allowing both the mileage and the long term ownership history to be followed over more than three decades.
For us, this is a highly convincing early Porsche 993 Carrera 2. It combines the final air cooled generation of the 911 with an elegant factory colour combination, a particularly generous specification, sensible documented mileage and an unusually comprehensive German history file.
