The Panda 4x4 was launched in June 1983, powered by a 965 cc engine producing 48 hp (36 kW), derived from the Autobianchi A112 or the Fiat 100-series engine. This model, simply known as the Panda 4x4, was the first small production car with a transversely mounted engine to feature a 4WD system. The system itself was manually selectable, with an ultra-low first gear. Under normal road conditions, starting was from second gear, with fifth gear having the same gear ratio as fourth in the standard Panda. The Austrian company Steyr-Puch supplied the complete drivetrain (clutch, gearbox, PTO, three-piece driveshaft, rigid rear axle including differential, and brakes) to the factory in Termini Imerese, where it was mounted onto the reinforced bodywork. In November 1984, the "L", "CL", and "S" versions were introduced. Specifications and details were adjusted across the entire range, with the Fiat grille being used on all versions. Mechanically, the range remained largely unchanged.
Our Panda 4X4 is almost unused and looks like new. It has also only driven 38,000 km. Furthermore, it is a very special convertible version of the Panda. The rear states that it was made in collaboration with Puch. It sits on Pirelli tires with an M+S relief. The car's interior still exudes a new feel. The Panda's front end is equipped with 4 extra headlights, including 2 yellow fog lights. Under the hood, we see an almost new engine. All in all, the car's unrusted condition stands out the most. A beautiful Panda 4X4 Convertible for the true enthusiast of a small Fiat.
