This wonderful looking example is a rare 1500cc TF model producing 60bhp with less than 3,500 manufactured. It was registered new in 1955 to California, USA and was the subject of a ground up restoration in 2016 and later shipped to the UK in 2019 and dry stored before being registered in 2024. The current and only private owner since import has cherished this example with it forming part of his private collection. Various works have been professionally completed by Martin Cawte of Classic MG Services in 2024/2025 including carrying out a full service and re-tune circa 30 miles ago, fitment of a new control box, rotor arm, condenser, points and sparkplugs. New brake cylinders and hoses and new shoes all round, replacement regulator and ammeter, restoration of the dynamo, top up of front shock absorbers, a new battery and fan belt, new speedometer cable, new wheels with new splines, rebalance of all five wire wheels and new tyres of correct specification. Other works completed include a new outlet pipe seal supplied and fitted to petrol tank, new water pump, and a new stainless-steel exhaust. A new carpet set was also fitted. All gauges are working as they should, and the chromework is in good order throughout; the TF also includes its new top-quality hood and side windows. The MG has covered less than 500 miles since the 2016 restoration and is in very good condition.
Presented in British Racing Green coachwork over a beige leather interior and complemented by a set of painted wire wheels and a black hood. The paintwork retains a deep shine, and the seats and interior are in good order. Included in the sale is the original jack, starting handle and 'knock on' hammer. Offered in left hand drive guise and powered by the desirable 1500 motor, this is a perfect candidate for enthusiast given it can keep up with modern traffic. Consigned by Daniel Godin
