Chassis #168470 - Tipo 10103
1955 - 2025: 70 Anniversary*
This Giulietta Spider #168470 has been sold in Milan and remained in North of Italy for its entire life.
The current ownership, a family, purchased the car back in 1988 and still belongs to the current generation of sons.
By its original documents, we can count seven previous owners.
It is definable as Garage Find because it is undriven since about ten years and stored by its owners into their safe premises.
Car is surprisingly still in health condition: no major rust catchable, some spots of flowering of the paint, and mostly with its original parts all around.
Despite our efforts, the ownership could not re track the history of this car, and we confirm the lack of invoices.
However, this chassis has been serviced by an italian reference for Alfa Romeo, in North Italy.
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider was presented in October 1955, after the first Giulietta in history in 1954.
One of the most beautiful and iconic Italian spider cars, and one of the most romantic ever built in history, the Giulietta Spider was produced from 1955 to 1962, by the famous coachbuilder Pininfarina.
The Spider still represents the full Italian romanticism and the symbol of the Italian Dolce Vita.
Its elegant and practical design marks Italian cars with character, for an increasingly attentive target that wants to have a car as a business card, to live and enjoy the life of those years. Today, the entire AR Giulietta range represents a fundamental piece for all the best car collectors in the world.
Max Hoffmann first understood the beauty, and the soul, of the Giulietta for the United States, so he ordered the Spider to Pininfarina.
No less important were the performances, fundamental to stand out and above all to emphasise the spirit of Italian cars, which were the best in combining style, image, noise and performance.
It was hard to equalise these features from other manufacturers back at that time, such as Lotus, Jaguar, Mercedes, Aston Martin. The factory from Arese really did a masterpiece.
Technically it is important because it was born from the base of the Giulietta Sprint, but with a shortened wheelbase, and the constructive cleanliness in the hood area is simply a triumph of design, as the hoods of that time tended to come out of the bodywork and to have an invasive design, due to the limited space and the internal crosspieces of the canvas, poorly designed.
Curiosity: The famous Signor Pinin Farina used to call the Giulietta Spider “bella signorina”!
