1924 | Rolls-Royce 40/50 HP Silver Ghost
Beschreibung
1924 Rolls Royce Silver Picadilly roadster.
Chassis number: 181KF
Registration number: SV9682
A simply stunning low mileage chssis with just 38,000 miles covered from new. The car started life as a Mcnear Limousine & was recently rebodied as a very very stylish picadilly roadster. The car is thus in Brand new condition cosmetically & drive just as a low mile chassis ought to.
The cars mechanics completely lack any appreciable signs of wear found on higher mileage cars & has to be driven to be believed. The steering has no play whatsoever. The swich gear no wear to the surrounding paintwork. A detailed history file comes with the car listing the various owners though the years iincluding famed racing driver & F1 Champion Phil Hill in California. A bill of sale in the history file lists the car as having sold in the distant past for the princely sum of One US Dollar along with other unspecified considerations.
Paintwork is new two tone dark blue with a subtle shift between the colours which suits the car admirably. To the interior is brand new black leather to the seats & also the fold out dickey seat in the rear. A modern fold down side step has been fitted which extends at the touch of a button allowing easy ingress & egress for older less linber drivers & passengers. To the rear is a large removeable motoring trunk; useful for storing tools & picnic requisites etc.
The engine starts instantly & runs in silence. It presents beautifully under the bonnet with gleaming copper & brass evident wherever one looks. All the important bits such as the aluminium undertrays are in situ, present & correct. A big Klaxon is fitted to the engine side of the bulkhead.
A good history comes with the car with bills from varied specialists including Alan Glew & RR&B Garages. An original spare parts cataloge comes with the car as do reprints of the owners manual detailing the correct operation of a 40/50hp Rolls-Royce Motor Car. The brass AA badge is being retained by the last owner where it will take pride of place on his next Ghost.
I have to stress what a wonderful car this is. You realy need to come & see it to appreciate how fine an example it is. It has just been serviced by Marque expert Lee Kenworthy & is in perfect runniing condition as a result. It cruises effortlessly on the motorway at 60MPH or so in a very relaxed fashion.
The Body has only just been installed on the car last year & a change of direction by the current owner now dictates its sale. The car is in stock with us & ready for viewings & extended touring.
