Beschreibung

1932 Rolls Royce 20/25 Hooper 4 light owner driver saloon
Chassis Number: GZU41
Registration Number: YY6400
A really lovely quite formal saloon with division but well suited to the owner driver. At 6ft 3" & long of leg I fit in it very well.
This is a low mile chassis with a very tight taut feel to it. I first sold this car 15 years ago to the current elderly owner who used it sparingly. During his ownership the car benefitted from a full engine rebuild so needless to say is in beautiful running condition having covered few miles since & been fastidiously maintained.
Coachwork is by the King of Coachbuilders Hooper & takes the form of a spacious 4 light saloon. The first owner a Major King in the army had the car delivered new to the newly opened Dorchester Hotel & specified the bonnet to be a little longer then standard no doubt to give a slightly phantom like profile to the body. It seems he succeeded as this is an imposing car with real presence that garners attention wherever it alights.
Exterior paintwork is "Hooper Lake Purple" over black. The 4 wings have been recently repainted in Masons Black so are like new in condition. The Maroon presents well with light patination. To the rear is a large motoring trunk with three internal cases in situ.
The interior of the car has sumptious burgundy leather to the very comfortable front seats. The rear is red cloth along with red carpets. Footrests fold out of the bulkhead for the comfort of the rear passengers.
The car is very tidy under the bonnet & has large tools in place. Interestingly the car is fitted with Hooper patent signal indicators that are illuminated tubes designed to slide out of recessed housings in the roof; quite rare I have only seen two other cars with these installed. A front spot lamp is fitted as are twin horns & twin side mount spares along with an original handbook.
A full service & set up is being perfomed by Marque Specialist Carl Ford of C.J. Ford engineering prior to sale so the car will be sold in impeccable running order ready for extended trips.
