4464 NZ is a UK Home Market MGC Roadster that was manufactured on the 8-18th July 1968, leaving the factory finished in Snowberry White with Black trim and Black soft top. Original factory equipment included wire wheels, overdrive, heater and foldaway hood. The C was supplied new by Leslie Porter Limited, Belfast and issued with the registration mark 4464 NZ in Londonderry. The MGC today is to original specification, a matching numbers car retaining its original engine, and original colour combination and appears to be a very correct, superbly presented example. We are pleased to report the MG's original Green ‘Buff' logbook still accompanies the car, confirming the MGC was first owned by a Mr W Brennan of Magherafelt, a small town in the County of Londonderry. The MGC stayed with its first owner for six years, selling in 1974 to a Mr Hutchinson in Ballymena. Documentation shows us the cars second owner used the MG on the Continent, insuring it for use in Switzerland and France. The Irish Continental Line Car ferry paperwork with the second owners detail, and cars details is still even with the car, stamped 26th July 1975 for the Rosslare to Le Havre crossing.
From the paperwork, it would then seem the MGC was off the road for several decades and spent until 2021 in Northern Ireland. Its clear from the condition the MGC has been thoroughly renovated prior to put being put back on the road. The bodywork is of a very high standard, the correct Snowberry White paintwork gleams, bright work is lovely and clean, the engine bay nicely detailed and the upholstery and boot compartment are both very smart, tidy and well presented. On the road the C is strong, the engine performs well with very good oil pressure, the gearbox smooth and the overdrives works superbly.
On arrival in England in 2021, it was sold to the most recent owner in Somerset who has spent around £2000 on maintenance to include servicing, a new set of Michelin tyres, new battery and ignition items, new washer pump, thermostat and radiator cap. 4464 NZ is running beautifully, it was driven faultlessly from Frome, Somerset to Goodwood Revival and back in September 2022, covering 170 miles without hesitation. This is a really strong, honest car with low ownership, in very correct condition still retaining its original engine. The car offers good value, and is ideal for regular use, long distance touring and is fantastic fun to drive.
