Description
Jaguar Mk II 4.2 Litre, year 1961.
Colour purple champagne metallic combined with a grey leather interior trimmed with purple piping and grey carpet.
This impressively modified Jaguar Mk II was fully restored, overhauled, and improved to more modern standards by the Roadster Group in the Netherlands.
The extensive work was completed in 1999.
Now, 23 years later the car is still in excellent condition!
The exterior looks like it was recently restored, and the sumptuous interior is still in excellent condition.
The Roadster Group was a renowned Dutch firm in the 1990s and early 2000’s, building bespoke Jaguar Mk II models for demanding clients.
These uprated and modernized Jaguar Mk II cars did come with a hefty price tag. This Jaguar Mk II features a powerful 4.2 Litre XK engine with petrol injection and an automatic 4-speed gearbox from a Jaguar XJ6 series 3. The power steering and the power brakes also come from this model.
The rear suspension (originally with leaf springs) now features INTRAX telescopic springs with special shock dampers. The rear axle has a higher ratio (3,07) and a limited slip differential. The brakes were uprated with larger (vented) discs and improved callipers.
The interior features comfortable and safer Jaguar XJ seats with head rests, a centre arm rest with window switches, leather headlining, air-conditioning, electrically powered windows, tinted glass, and a hifi-stereo system with CD player.
Furthermore, the car is fitted with chrome wire wheels, a powerful 70 Amp dynamo, a modern LPG installation, and a custom made double Stainless Steel exhaust system.
This very luxurious Jaguar Mk II is a powerful machine which is much faster than a standard Jaguar Mk II.
The roadholding and handling are also on a much higher level compared to a standard Mk II. A magnificent and very special ‘bespoke’ Jaguar Mk II!
