Description

Austin Healey 3000 MK II, year 1961. Chassis (VIN) number HBT7L15775, engine number 29E/RU/H1991. This is a scarce Austin Healey 3000 Mk II 3 carburettor model of which only 5096 examples were built. The bodywork is finished in ice blue metallic over old English white combined with a blue interior featuring blue leather seats trimmed with white piping, a blue leatherette dashboard and door trim, and blue carpet.

The blue soft top and tonneau cover are made of blue mohair, and a pair of aluminium side screens with Perspex windows completes the weather equipment. This gorgeous ‘Big Healey’ was sold new in the USA, and the car was shipped from Louisiana to the Netherlands in 2005. In the period 2005 – 2007 the automobile was extensively ‘nut and bolt’ restored to perfection. A restoration logbook is present as is a photo report. The restoration was executed by three renowned specialists: the engine was overhauled by the firm of van Giersbergen, the bodywork was restored by the firm of van Emst.

The other mechanical components were overhauled and restored by Altena classic Service. We have assisted the owner completing this glorious Austin Healey. After having thoroughly enjoyed the car for twenty years the owner asked us to find a good new home for it. The shows light traces of use and is in a very good condition! The engine sounds and runs beautifully and the car drives perfectly.

The Healey is fitted with chrome wire wheels shod with Vredestein Sprint Classic tyres, chrome ‘knock on’ wheel nuts, a chrome baggage rack, two chrome door mounted rear view mirrors, a MotoLita steering wheel with wood rim, disc brakes at the front, and a Stainless-Steel exhaust. This is a magnificent ‘Big Healey’ in a very good, restored condition and in the most popular colours. A fantastic classic car that will bring great moments of intense open top driving fun!
