Description

Saab 93 750GT (Granturismo) from 1959.

Blue with a blue-green interior.

This 93B 750GT was brought to Sweden from the USA in 2008, in a very dilapidated condition.

Over the years, many original 93 parts were collected (including doors and fenders, often brand new). The interior is also upholstered in the original fabric and color combination.

Truly unique, as only one 93B 750 GT exists in this color combination.

The GT came to the Netherlands in 2018.

The Saab was restored with great care and patience and was finally completed in August 2021.

The engine was overhauled by a well-known Saab 2-stroke specialist and runs fantastically. This 3-cylinder, 2-stroke engine with a displacement of 750 cc produces approximately 57 hp thanks to the Solex P40 carburetor and 66 mm pistons. The compression ratio is 1:9.

The sound this engine produces through the sports exhaust is fantastic.

This GT has a 4-speed transmission.

It's a pleasure to drive this super rare and beautiful 93B 750GT.

Introduced in April 1958 at the New York Automobile Show.

After the first small batch of GTs were delivered in the US, sales were so good that SAAB planned to build a larger number of 500-600 units. However, when the second batch arrived in the US, sales were disappointing, so they decided not to expand production further. It's reasonable to assume that no more than 250 to 300 93GTs were built. Only 30 examples of the Type 93B from the 1959-60 period remain.

Of these, only 5 are known from the 1959 production year: 2 in the USA, 2 in Sweden, and 1 in the Netherlands.

The GT was equipped with several striking sporty accessories.

Sport dashboard with odometer, tachometer, and Halda speed pilot.

Sport interior with adjustable seats and a headrest on the navigator's side.

2 auxiliary front lights and 2 reversing lights.

Exterior rearview mirrors.

Wooden sports steering wheel.

2 chrome side strips.

GT750 emblems on the front fenders and dashboard.

2-point seat belts (very unique for that time).
