Description

Thanks to Rolls-Royce, two of the foremost coachbuilders, H. J. Mulliner and Park Ward, joined forces to become arguably the most well-known automotive design house, Mulliner Park Ward. This very specific model was produced in limited numbers and, in fact, represents just one of 369 examples compared to 16,717 four-door models, specifically noted by the timeless grace of the swage lines setting it apart from the standard Silver Shadows.

Classic cars certainly benefit from the storage and care from temperature and humidity-controlled facility and this example is no exception. Following re-importation back from America in 2015, a light restoration took place which included a full strip-down and repaint from blue to its current colour. This included refurbished brightwork as well as minor engine repairs. Apparently, the works included refurbished chrome and some minor engine repairs although the HPI only details the colour change with the other items noted from previous sales write-ups. Recent recommissioning work has been completed by specialists including Nigel Sandell, with invoices in the last six months totalling close to £7,000 with work on the engine, electrics &braking system as well a full service and MoT test to ensure all is running and driving well. Complete with the original hard-back, owner's book, this represents a genuine opportunity to own a rare, early Silver Shadow Coupe, used sparingly but regularly and offered in metallic grey with a matching black leather interior. With just three previous owners, the last of which also added 'Apple CarPlay' to the central dash area, this quintessentially classic British car is certainly something of a rarity. Interested parties should note that the private registration plate shown is to be retained by the vendor and a new, age-related registration issued instead.
