Mercedes-Benz 280 SE (W116), first registered in April 1974, finished in Icon Gold with green velour interior and German historic registration (H-plate).
I am the fourth owner of the vehicle. Prior to my ownership, the car remained within the same family for many years and was carefully maintained. German-delivered vehicle.
The car is in honest, well-kept and mechanically sound condition with age-related patina. It has only been driven in good weather and has always been stored in a dry garage during my ownership. Odometer reading: 138,200 km. German TÜV valid until June 2027.
The M110 engine runs smoothly, the automatic transmission shifts properly, and the vehicle drives and brakes as it should. The rear differential is leak-free. Engine and transmission show minor oil seepage consistent with the age of the vehicle.
The car underwent a partial restoration in 2016 at approximately 133,000 km. This included rust and bodywork repairs as well as the renewal of various suspension, braking and fuel system components.
More recently, the following maintenance work has been carried out:
Oil and filter service, power steering fluid and filter renewed, ignition components renewed, new drive belts, fuel filter, air filter and thermostat replaced, new tie rods and stabilizer links, automatic transmission service including filter, differential resealed with fresh oil, new rear shock absorbers, valve adjustment, ignition timing adjustment and new valve cover gasket.
Overall, the vehicle presents well and remains in honest condition. Some panels have been repainted in the past. There are two small superficial rust spots on the front edge of the bonnet caused by stone chips. The underbody is in good age-related condition with minor surface rust in places but no known perforation rust. The driver's seat shows light wear on the outer bolster, while the remaining velour upholstery is in good condition.
Original owner's manual wallet, service booklet, original purchase invoice from 1974 and keys are included.
Viewings and test drives are welcome by appointment.
Private sale. The vehicle is sold without warranty, guarantee or right of return.
