Description

1929 Lincoln Model L Sport Phaeton – A Masterpiece of American Automotive History

The 1929 Lincoln Model L Sport Phaeton tells the fascinating story of the Lincoln Motor Company and the vision of its founder, Henry Martyn Leland. Originally founded to produce aircraft engines for World War I, Leland shifted to the development of the first Lincoln automobiles in 1920, quickly establishing them as symbols of precision and luxury. Following economic challenges, Henry Ford acquired the Lincoln Motor Company in 1922, transforming it into the prestige label of his enterprise. Under Edsel Ford’s direction, Lincoln underwent a creative renaissance that elevated the Model L—and particularly the 1929 Sport Phaeton—to icons of luxury.

This rare Lincoln Model L Sport Phaeton, featuring Locke's elegant "dual-cowl" design, is one of only 58 examples of the 163B style produced in 1929. Equipped with a powerful V8 engine, a three-speed transmission, and a luxurious interior, this Phaeton offers an additional windshield for rear passengers, enhancing comfort and delivering a distinctive driving experience.
