From the late 1980s through to 1992 Lancia established one of the most dominant periods in World Rally Championship history, securing six consecutive manufacturers’ titles and elevating the Delta Integrale to legendary status. The Evoluzione models were created to homologate the final stage of the works cars and represent the ultimate development of the road going Integrale.
The Evoluzione 1 brought with it a wider track, dramatically extended wheelarches, revised suspension and a further developed 16 valve turbocharged engine producing around 210 bhp. Sharper in its responses and more purposeful in appearance, it is widely regarded as the purest of the Evoluzione variants and the closest in spirit to the Group A competition cars.
Among the limited number of special editions produced, the Giallo Ferrari is one of the rarest and most recognisable. All 295 examples were finished in Giallo Fly, a colour more commonly associated with Maranello, paired with a black leather interior and subtle model specific details. The result is an Integrale that combines the model’s competition pedigree with a particularly distinctive presence.
This example was built in July 1992 and first registered in the UK on 13 April 2000. Since 2005 it has been maintained with a clear emphasis on mechanical correctness and long term preservation. Servicing has been carried out regardless of mileage with regular cambelt and bearing changes, while the suspension has been removed and powder coated with bushes and ancillary components replaced where necessary. The underside has been treated purely as a preventative measure and the car has been stored carefully throughout this period.
The history file is extensive and includes its original factory paperwork, UK type approval documentation, a large collection of MOT certificates, detailed maintenance invoices and period magazine coverage featuring the car shortly after its arrival in the UK.
With just 34,100km recorded, this is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the most collectible Evoluzione 1 derivatives. It offers the unmistakable character of the Integrale, genuine competition lineage and the usability that has always set these cars apart, in one of the most striking and sought after specifications.
