Description
Lancia Aurelia B20 GT 2500 – When Style Hits the Road
There are cars that were built to transport. And then there are cars that were built to tell stories.
This 1957 Lancia Aurelia B20 GT does both – in the most Italian way imaginable.
A Grand Tour Through Time
The 6th series of the Aurelia B20 GT was the final refinement of a concept that Lancia had revolutionised in the early 1950s: a noble Gran Turismo with genuine racing DNA.
With its 2.5-litre V6 – the world’s first production V6 engine – and typical Lancia finesse, the Aurelia was decades ahead of its time.
No surprise, then, that it was not only eligible but also feared at the Mille Miglia.
This example? Built in 1957, originally registered in Italy, Targa Oro certified, verified by the Lancia Club. Two owners. And everything still there: original papers, original paint, original soul.
Engineering – The Subtle Difference
Under the bonnet lies a 109-hp V6 with twin Weber carburettors – an engine that doesn’t speak in numbers but in music.
Power is transmitted – in true Gran Turismo style – through a Nardi wood steering wheel and matching Nardi gear lever.
Four forward gears and one back, naturally.
✅ Rear-wheel drive – for the authentic GT feel
✅ 170 km/h top speed – more than enough to spread the scent of leather and fuel along the autostrada
✅ Original Borrani wire wheels with central lock – including spare!
✅ Original exhaust system – complete with the soundtrack of a time when cars still sounded like cars.
Condition – Preserved, Not Restored
This Aurelia was never disassembled. Never “made like new.” Just perfectly preserved.
Still in its first factory paint, with the original Lancia Panno Lenci and leather interior – beige and walnut brown, with patina instead of polish.
🛋 Carpets? Original mille righe, even in the boot.
📻 Radio? Blaupunkt, fully functional.
🔧 Battery cut-off switch? Discreetly installed – because this car is meant to be driven, not tinkered with.
And Then Comes the Cinema …
The current owner isn’t just anyone – he also owned one of the two Lancia Aurelia B24s featured in the Italian film classic Il Sorpasso (1962) with Vittorio Gassman.
Before selling that car, he kept a little souvenir: the legendary five-tone horns – now mounted on this coupé.
One honk, and the 1960s return. A unique feature with genuine cinematic heritage.
Conclusion – Not Restored, But Preserved
This Lancia Aurelia isn’t a project. It’s an artefact.
A rolling piece of Italian automotive history you simply can’t find anymore.
No replica. No re-creation. No “better than new.”
Just original. And therefore – pricelessly rare.
If you’re looking for a classic that doesn’t just drive but speaks – listen closely.
This Aurelia will tell you everything.
But if you prefer Bluetooth and heated seats … this one’s not for you.
