Description
Garage find, part of a private collection. YOUR NEXT RESTORATION
The Lancia Augusta #231 was presented in Paris in 1932, and already in its production the Augusta marks its first historical feature: it was built in Turin and in the Bonneuil-sur-Marne plant in France, where it was then also marketed, under another name.
The first sedan with a load-bearing structure.
It has independent suspensionsanchored on the front end on the load-bearing body, and even the transmission has new joints for greater comfort.
Lancia perfects its patent for the load-bearing body and, second historical feature, modifies its production process, innovating with the assembly line.
The technical advantages and the study of volumes made the Augusta a pioneering model, and an icon of the Lancia style.
From 1933 to 1935 Lancia produced three series of Augusta, including the Cabriolet, which had sliding front seats, leather upholstery, a closing hood, Rudge Whitworth spoked wheels
