Introduced in the 1980s, the Jeep Cherokee XJ is widely regarded as one of the most important SUVs ever built. It was among the first vehicles to combine true off-road capability with everyday usability, thanks to its lightweight unibody construction, solid axles, and compact dimensions. By the mid-1990s, the XJ had established itself as a global benchmark for versatile 4x4 vehicles — equally at home on long road trips, rural terrain, or city use.

Our Car
This 1996 example is the desirable pre-facelift catalytic EU version, finished in a deep dark blue, recently resprayed, presenting in very fresh and elegant condition. The exterior color is beautifully complemented by an immaculately preserved beige cloth interior, a rare and refined combination that gives the car a distinctive and classy character while maintaining the original spirit of the model.

The car has been family-owned for the majority of its life, always stored in covered parking and mainly used for trips rather than daily heavy-duty use. This careful ownership is clearly reflected in both its cosmetic and mechanical condition.

Mechanically, the car has benefited from frequent and documented maintenance. It is fitted with brand new Bilstein shock absorbers, fresh tires, and a new battery installed this year. The sump gasket has been replaced and there are no oil leaks present. Further recent works include new gearbox mounts, a new power steering pump with pulley and belt, new brake discs and pads, a refurbished rear differential with new bearings, and new bump stops. The air conditioning system is fully functional with a refurbished pump. All works are supported by invoices.
