William Lyons founded the S.S. (Swallow Sidecars) brand in 1931. After the war, the brand name was changed to ‘Jaguar’. It was during this period that work began on pre-war designs. There were the technically improved 1½ Litre, 2½ Litre and 3½ Litre saloons, which were later named Mark IV. These were stunningly beautiful, extremely elegant creations. The six-cylinder engine with a 3½-litre displacement delivered enormous power for its time.

According to the Heritage Certificate, our Jaguar MK IV 3½ Litre saloon was delivered as a left-hand drive model in Brussels on 22 December 1947. To avoid import duties, the vehicle was imported from England as a so-called CKD (Completely Knocked Down), i.e. in individual parts, to Belgium, where it was then assembled. The history of this classic car has been documented since 1970. It was restored by its then owner in 2000. The classic car was subsequently based in Austria; since 2011, it has been with its current owner in Germany and has always been serviced by a specialist firm. This stylish Jaguar saloon with its powerful six-cylinder engine is a real pleasure to drive, even on long journeys.
