The Jaguar Mark II is one of the most recognisable sporting saloons ever built and a model that helped define Jaguar’s reputation through the 1960s. Compact, fast and unmistakably elegant, it offered genuine performance in a practical four-door body and quickly became the benchmark for the class. In period it was among the fastest saloon cars available and earned a reputation that still holds today, often referred to as the BMW M5 of its era.

This is a highly desirable left-hand-drive example, presented in the classic combination of British Racing Green over Beige. The colours suit the car perfectly and highlight the shape and brightwork in exactly the way they should. The overall condition is superb, with a strong, straight body, excellent paint finish and a beautifully kept interior that retains the warmth and character that makes these cars so appealing.

The car has been tastefully upgraded with a later Jaguar automatic transmission, making it far more relaxed and usable in modern driving while keeping the character of the original car intact. It starts easily, runs smoothly and delivers the effortless performance that made the MkII such a dominant road and competition car when new.

Fitted with Coombs-style rear spats, it carries a direct visual link to John Coombs, whose competition cars and road conversions made the MkII a touring car legend. That association with Coombs and motorsport is a key part of the model’s history and gives the car an added layer of appeal for enthusiasts.

Well sorted, highly usable and in one of the most sought-after configurations, this is an excellent example of an iconic Jaguar that still delivers the same blend of pace, presence and practicality that made it famous in the first place.
