Description

I offer you:

"Beautiful everyday classic"

Vehicle lovingly cared for over many years. Off the road for 10 months for purely health reasons. MOT valid until July 31, 2028. Due to its age, ideal as an honest classic-car project for a collector.

If you are genuinely interested in the vehicle, please contact me. The price is negotiable.

+++ A full hail-protection cover and additional accessories can also be purchased by arrangement. +++

My enthusiast's Ford Scorpio with the proven 2.0-liter DOHC engine (fuel-injected with G catalytic converter/Euro 1) and new MOT/emissions test valid until 07/2028!

Collection should take place promptly.

I have invested a great deal of time, money and effort in the vehicle. A few "cosmetic jobs" could still be carried out (if desired).

In my opinion, it could qualify for historic registration. At present, the vehicle does not yet have historic registration.

The vehicle is very well maintained and very clean. All areas of the car have been cleaned in detail. In the interior, you could literally "eat off the floor". The car is either parked in the carport or under a hail-protection cover. Very clean underneath as well and without any MOT-related defects!

While in my ownership/possession, it has been used exclusively as a fair-weather vehicle! The wheel arches and sills are rust-free. I have also never driven the car with a trailer!

It was first registered in 1990. The car is therefore now 36 years old. In all the years since its first registration, the vehicle has had only 4 previous owners.

What has been renewed:

  • All tires replaced (Rotalla all-season tires)
  • All wheels thoroughly cleaned
  • Front brakes replaced (discs and brake pads)
  • Rear brakes relined
  • Oil change with filter carried out
  • New oil drain plug with magnetic tip installed
  • Differential oil drain plug replaced
  • Valve cover gasket replaced
  • Spark plugs replaced
  • Air filter replaced
  • Wiper blades replaced
  • Radiator flushed
  • Coolant replaced

  • 2 center caps (caps for alloy wheels) replaced
  • Some clamps and hoses in the cooling system replaced
  • Horn replaced
  • Fuse box cover replaced
  • Valve caps replaced
  • License plate lighting (housing and bulbs) completely replaced

  • Trunk seal replaced
  • Original jack completely refurbished (like new)

  • Locking wheel nuts replaced

  • Vehicle detailing

Unfortunately, for health reasons (understandably), the vehicle is now simply sitting unused. It has been in my ownership for 4 years and has always been cherished and well cared for. If I were in better health, this beautiful car would not be for sale and I would already have taken care of the bodywork defects. With a few paintwork jobs, however, if desired, you will once again have a beautiful classic car that can still travel our roads without any problems today.

The defects:

The mileage is the reading shown. The odometer stopped working at approximately 119,000 kilometers. Unfortunately, this is a common issue in many Ford Scorpio vehicles. Based on its condition, the actual mileage is certainly not insignificantly higher. However, I cannot provide any guarantee for the actual mileage. The overall impression speaks for itself (in my opinion). I only carried out maintenance drives.

After 36 years, the following should also be mentioned:

The front bumper was provisionally touched up on the left-hand side. Behind the rear lights, I treated rust spots with rust converter and silver rust-protection paint.

The ABS warning light in the instrument cluster indicates a fault. Update as of 02.03.: ABS bulb removed as defective. ABS fault still persists! A new bulb will be provided or installed by arrangement.

The brake-wear indicator briefly comes on even though the pads are nearly new. The brake drags slightly (due to the vehicle having been standing).

There are small dents and scratches.

Unfortunately, the trim strip on the rear bumper is currently coming loose. It has therefore been removed and will be provided to the buyer. The side mounts for the trim strip are indicated (by glued-on pads). A chrome-look strip has been adhered in place of the standard strip.

No car radio is installed. The installation slot has been neatly fitted with a blanking plate. An original car radio will be provided. Unfortunately, the keycode is missing. Period-correct radios are inexpensive to obtain, however (also with a keycode).

The vehicle will be handed over with the orange standard indicators. If white (transparent) indicator housings are installed, these are not automatically included in the sale; they can, however, be purchased for 100 euros (including bulbs). Additional accessories are also available on a negotiable basis.

All documents and keys are present.

Important: A written purchase contract will be presented and must be signed. Please be sure to bring a valid ID! If you should have problems with this for any reason (unclear to me) (this has happened before), I reserve the right to declare the transaction null and void (to reject it retrospectively); even if this should result in financial or other disadvantages for me or the buyer. I exclude any form of warranty and liability on my part for any disadvantages arising for the buyer as a result.

I accept cash payment only upon handover of the vehicle.

I hope for a smooth sale.

This is a private sale excluding any liability for material defects.

As a private seller, I also exclude the return of the vehicle, which I have expressly offered as a project vehicle.
