The Donkervoort S8 (Super Eight) is the second model produced by Donkervoort following the company’s founding in 1978. Like all Donkervoorts, the S8 is a naturally minimalist car, meaning it is extremely light and designed to deliver exceptional performance and agility. Powered by a 2-liter Ford engine and weighing just 580 kilograms, the S8 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.0 seconds and can reach a top speed of 190 km/h where conditions allow.

This particular Donkervoort carries chassis number JD0082, making it an early example. The interior features black fabric upholstery and a leather Donkervoort steering wheel. The doors, soft top, and leather tonneau cover are all black and in good condition. The dashboard is finished in black leather, and the gauges are trimmed in black, giving the cabin a fresh, sporty appearance. The car rides on 14-inch Donkervoort alloy wheels fitted with 195/60-R14 tires. This S8 has also been fitted with “cycle wings”, the round, front wheels-hugging fenders, giving it a slightly more modern look. For purists, the original long front fenders can also be supplied.

The first (Dutch) owner kept this Donkervoort for an impressive 37 years, until 2021. Since then, it has had just one additional owner. Together, the two previous owners have covered only 64,659 km.

The car comes with the original manual, produced in 1981 for the S7 and S8 models. The text is typewritten, and the illustrations are hand-drawn. It also includes the wiring diagram for the harness. The manual reads as though one Donkervoort enthusiast is explaining the car to another, which makes it a charming collector’s item.

This Donkervoort Super Eight is in good condition with a well-documented history. At over 40 years old, it is a very special, original Dutch classic.
