The vehicle is accident-free and rust-free. It was part of a large Jaguar collection and is in mint condition. It is fully equipped with individual seats (long wheelbase), a sunroof, full leather upholstery, picnic tables in the rear, electric front and rear seat adjustment with memory function, burr walnut trim, automatic climate control, cruise control, a detachable tow bar, rear parking sensors, a Blaupunkt navigation system, and much more. It has recently passed its German roadworthiness inspection (TÜV).

The Jaguar XJ (X308) is a luxury sedan in the XJ series from the British automaker Jaguar. Based on the XJ40 platform introduced in 1986, it was the first time the XJ series, which had been offered since 1968, featured V8 engines instead of the previous 6- and 12-cylinder units. The body design, which differs from its predecessor, the X300, only in minor details, was created under the direction of Jaguar's then chief designer, Geoff Lawson.
History
The X308 is a further development of the X300, which, despite a significantly altered exterior design, is itself a facelift of the XJ40 series launched in 1986. While the exterior design was largely carried over from the X300, the interior, particularly the door panels and cockpit, underwent a significant redesign with softer, more flowing lines. The X308 was unveiled in the autumn of 1997 and adopted the AJ-V8 engine, available in 3.2 and 4.0-liter displacements, which had already been introduced the previous year in the X100 coupe and convertible series. The naturally aspirated version of the Jaguar X308 was offered as the XJ8, XJ Executive, Sovereign, or Daimler V8. The supercharged version of the 4.0-liter AJ-V8 engine, producing 267 kW/363 hp, was used in two distinctly different models: the sport-oriented Jaguar XJR and the comfort- and luxury-focused Daimler Super V8 (called the Jaguar 4.0 Vanden Plas Supercharged in some non-European markets). In the 1999 model year, the naturally aspirated AJ-V8 engines, internally designated AJ-26, were replaced by the revised AJ-27 units. The supercharged AJ-26S, equipped with an Eaton compressor, was superseded the following year by the AJ-27S. Power was transmitted exclusively to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission.

Externally, the model can be distinguished from its predecessor, the X300, by a more rounded grille, clear-lens headlights, red-and-white (instead of red-and-gray) taillights, oval turn signals (at the front) and side reflectors, as well as chrome trim applied only to the corners of the plastic bumpers. All variants except the base model XJ8 and the sport model XJR could be ordered with a short wheelbase (SWB) or a wheelbase extended by 12.5 cm (LWB). The entire additional length provides greater legroom in the rear.
