Description

Forget everything you know about the BMW 328, the basis for the Bristol. The Bristol 400 from 1949 offered here offers experiences in several respects that no other sports coupe from the time can offer you so quickly.

The car was completely disassembled by the current owner and rebuilt in more than 2000 hours in 2017-2020. Great importance was attached to original materials in the interior and they were also purchased from specialists in England. Whether fabrics for the headliner or sun blinds, leather or carpets, only top quality was used. The body was treated with the utmost care in all work steps, the paint was applied in 12 layers and sanded until the result was flawlessly deep and shiny. The paint is perfect except for a small spot on the front, see photo. All chrome and wood parts are in perfect condition.

The technology works perfectly, the 6-cylinder in-line engine has been performance-optimized with 3 Solex double carburettors and offers something special in terms of power development and sound.

The Bristol offered has the heating available as a factory accessory and can be ventilated very well on the other side through the crankable rear window in connection with the air vents in the footwell.

The restoration was documented with many photos and lists, and a book on the history was written. There is the original workshop manual as well as six other manuals and parts books for the care and maintenance of the Bristol, which were purchased from a Bristol expert in Australia.

The Bristol 400 has German papers with H-approval and is currently running with seasonal license plates. He is an award winner at the Classic Gala in Schwetzingen. A vehicle of this quality is hard to find and worth every penny. The owner of this rare vehicle is always a welcome guest at exhibitions and concours events.
