Description

This truly exceptional Austin Healey 3000 MKIII Phase II has been subject of a full, ground up, nut and bolt restoration over a pain staking seven year period. The car is essentially fresh from completion, is running in and offers its next owner the opportunity to essentially have a freshly rebuilt car without the long wait for completion. Without doubt the cost of restoration outstrips value, and this car has been rebuilt with no expense spared to a wonderful standard with an underside as impressive as the top of the car. To begin with, this Big Healey was fully stripped down and blasted ahead of all metal work being replaced by Northern Healey UK. The chassis was beautifully painted, the bodyshell totally rebuilt and painted, and the car built up with all new or re-conditioned parts. The engine was stripped down and rebuilt with new main and big end bearings, new pistons and rings, the crankshaft reground and the cylinder head converted to unleaded with bronze guides. The flywheel was balanced, a new clutch fitted and the carbs fully rebuilt.

The Healey was fitted with a rebuilt steering box, the rear axle was overhauled with new bearings and seals, the differential overhauled, uprated half shafts were fitted and the gearbox and overdrive stripped and rebuilt. The brakes and suspension were all completely renewed, many new ancillaries fitted and the car then built up with renewed brighwork, electrics, lighting, full interior re-trim and new hood.

CSF 382B was then transported to our Malton Coachworks Workshop for the final stage of completion. Over £10,000 was spent on the finishing touches to include many adjustments, detailing and running in. Final additions included a new set of chrome wire wheels and tyres, and the Healey is now ready to be driven and enjoyed. This beautiful car is exceptional in every respect, the bodywork, paintwork, brightwork, interior, chassis and underside are all gleaming, and the engine bay beautifully prepared. Now running in, this potential show winning car offers a fantastic opportunity that shouldn't be missed.
