1957 Austin Healey BN4 100-Six

Registration number: 645UYT
Bought as a derelict barn find, the brief on this car was to restore it to fast rally specification. A magazine article on the car exhaustively details the huge works that went in to the nut & bolt restoration of this car. It was restored in its original configuration of Left hand drive, but soon after was converted to Right Hand drive for easier use on UK roads. It would be easy to convert it back to LHD if so desired.
Restoration was extensive to say the least. A brand new chassis frame was fabricated for the basis of the restoration. The engine was dis-assembled to its last component & fully rebuilt with a custom built gas flowed head with larger valves & double valve springs, oversized pistons & converted at the same time to fuel injection. A fast road camshaft is fitted. All alumininum body panels were sourced from "A head for Heleays" of Rugby making the car very light indeed. This allowed for sunken headlamps to be fitted to tthe front shroud augmented by rally style driving lamps.
A new wiring loom was fitted & the interior tastefully & beautifully trimmed in tobacco coloured leather. including the comfortable bucket style sets. This was all topped off with an easily removed old english white soft top as a contrast to the dark grey paintwork. Removing it is as simple as undoing four retaining fasteners.
This is an ideal car for hill climbs, rallys & competition work. It is absolutley sorted, reliable & extremely fast yet very driveable. It sits on four new Minlite alloy wheels shod with new tyres. Perfomance wise it shares no resemblance to 3 litre healeys being far faster, better handing & agile.
