Description

The Aurora GRX is a Canadian-built replica of the early Shelby Cobra 289.

The replicas of the 1964 AC Cobra were recreated in detail from 1981 to 1983. Information about Aurora can be found at www.auroracobra.org

A total of 170 cars were built. With independent suspension, all-round disc brakes, a leather interior of Connolly leather and Smith's instruments, the Aurora had no equal. Each car took 450 hours to build. The Aurora therefore also met the strictest American safety requirements.

The offered car is number 61 of the 170 built copies. The car is from 1981 and has been owned by the current owner for 20 years, who drove it between 500 and 1000km per year. The car is always garage maintained. A full engine overhaul was carried out 10 years ago and new Dayton spoked wheels were installed in 2024. The engine is a 302 CI (5 liter) V8 from Ford. The power will be close to 300 hp. Due to the sound and the enormous engine power in this light small car, it is a sensation to drive it.
