Description and provenance

First registered abroad on July 1st, 1963, this elegant Giulietta Spider 1300 Series 3 was imported from Germany to Italy in 2018. It has since undergone a complete, nut-and-bolt restoration, carried out starting from the bare shell with meticulous attention to originality.

The restoration included:

  • Full bodywork reconstruction and repainting in factory-correct Blue Iseo.
  • Mechanical overhaul, including the original AR00102 engine, gearbox, and braking system.
  • Electrical system completely renewed.
  • Interior upholstery redone in authentic black vipla.
  • Chrome and fittings restored or replaced with genuine Alfa Romeo parts.

The process spanned several years and exceeded the market value of this model, a testament to the care and devotion invested.

Since completion, the car has covered only 800 km, remaining in as-new condition.

Styling and features

Finished in Blue Iseo with black vipla interior, this Spider retains the timeless lines penned by Pininfarina, combining elegance with unmistakable Italian sportiness.

It comes with a new black soft top and the rare original Alfa Romeo hard top, an accessory highly sought after among collectors.

Fitted with new Vredestein Classic tyres, it delivers the same charm and drivability that made the Giulietta Spider a symbol of 1960s Italian motoring.

Historical significance and collectibility

The Giulietta Spider 1300 Series 3, built from 1961 to 1965, represents the final and most refined evolution of the model introduced in 1955.

Powered by the legendary alloy twin-cam 1.3-litre engine, it combined lightness, balance, and a distinctive Alfa Romeo soundtrack.

The Series 3 stands out for subtle technical and aesthetic updates, making it one of the most desirable and collectible variants today.

Sadly, after years of painstaking restoration, the elderly owner was no longer able to drive it, and the car is now offered for sale at a fraction of its restoration cost.

A rare example, retaining its original matching-numbers engine and chassis – a true collector’s Alfa Romeo in concours condition.
