Chassis 121215065 stems from the sixth and last Series of Alfa 6C 1750. Since the larger part of public roads had been covered with tarmac by the early 30ies, the chassis was no longer seen as part of the suspension anymore, which had been the thought behind the previous, more flexible chassis design. Instead, Alfa Romeo realised that a stiffer chassis design would contribute to the roadholding on modern roads. The  sixth series therefore features a "boxed" or closed chassis rather than the U-shaped design of the previous models.

Also, the geabox shift pattern was redesigned to an inversed, mirrored pattern which is a big advantege for taller drivers, since this means you are shifting away from your body at higher speeds.

We have retained the original, multi disc clutch (all new discs), and also the centre throttle, because the comination of these two features enables you to shift a lot quicker and be much faster on typical Italian roads, once you got used to it.

The whole car is in excellent mechanical condition and a real pleasure to drive.

VIN 121215065 was delivered to Czechoslovakia when new and was discovered there and brought into Germany in the early 60ies by Count Doenhoff. He kept it in his small museum in Salem for a short period and then sold it on to Wilhelm Lackmann. The next owner was a very active and charming anthusiast by the name of Rainer Roeschmann, who kept the car for more than 30 years. He had it partly restored by Italian specialists and did the MM six times, plus many other events, like the Transappeninica and many more. Unfortunately he became very ill and had to sell the car. He approached me and asked for help, and I was able to sell his car to my best customer back then. Susequently, he has been enjoying the car for almost 20 years, but now he is getting a little too old for this sporty model himself.

These last three ownerships cover a time span of almost 70 years.

Most 6Cs on the market are a mixed bag of parts or have a rather chequered history with many made up stories. This here is a proper, large compressor example with a proper history and no hidden faults.
