One owner from new, just 24,000 km and the legendary 250 hp Busso V6: one of the most compelling manual Alfa Romeo 147 GTAs in terms of provenance and exceptional state of preservation.
In 2002, Alfa Romeo revived the legendary GTA badge on a compact model, transforming the 147 into something radically different. Under the bonnet sat the 3,179 cc “Busso” V6, in its 250 hp specification: an engine that would become one of the defining symbols of the final great era of six-cylinder Alfa Romeos.
The example offered by Montini Automobili is a 2005 Alfa Romeo 147 GTA, equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox, owned by just one owner from new and showing only 24,000 km from new. The car also comes complete with CRS (Certificato di Rilevanza Storica), the Italian Certificate of Historical Relevance.
Its specification is particularly appealing in its simplicity: black exterior with the original cloth interior, a combination that perfectly reflects the sporting, pure and almost analogue character that today forms such an important part of the GTA’s appeal.
Its exceptionally low mileage and careful preservation also mean that the car remains in outstanding condition, remarkably close to new.
The Busso V6 in one of its final evolutions
At the heart of the 147 GTA is, of course, its 3.2-litre 24-valve V6, one of the final evolutions of the celebrated engine family originally developed under the direction of Giuseppe Busso.
Producing 250 hp at 6,200 rpm and 300 Nm of torque, the 147 GTA could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 6.3 seconds and reach a claimed top speed of 246 km/h.
Impressive figures for a front-wheel-drive compact car of the early 2000s, although the numbers tell only part of the story of this remarkable Alfa Romeo.
