Dear VW bus enthusiasts,
I rescued this split bus from the Balkans, built in May 1957 – a true barn find!
According to the VW certificate, it was produced in Hanover in early May 1957 and delivered to Cologne. The original color was dove blue, and the interior was black leatherette.
This bus was located in the former Yugoslavia from 1967 onwards and was used there for several more decades. The Yugoslavian vehicle registration documents are available. According to a letter from Volkswagen, the engine number listed therein is the original factory number.
It is still largely in its original condition, however, parts of the interior, the rear bumper, and the engine are unfortunately missing. Two of the three bench seats are still present.
I currently have too many restoration projects, so I'd like to pass this bus on to a passionate VW bus enthusiast (without profit!). Currently, it is stored in a dry warehouse near Vienna, Austria.
I can gladly organize transport throughout Europe, if required.
