You will not easily find a second of an SLK like this one! Mercedes' slogan 'The best or nothing' therefore really comes into its own. This is a luxuriously equipped facelift model with the coveted compressor that was delivered new on 1 August 2001 in Germany. You can see that the car was used exclusively in summer, as the car is in beautiful original condition: as if it rolled out of the factory yesterday. The mileage is demonstrably low and the service booklet shows that the car has always been dealer-maintained of which at least until 2016 at the same dealer in Schwerin (near Hamburg). In the summer of 2019, the SLK was imported to the Netherlands. The last service was carried out by Mercedes-Benz dealer Wensink.

Thanks to the 'Magma Red' colour, the SLK is a striking appearance. The car features the original 16-inch alloy wheels that still have the original factory tyres the SLK was delivered with. A Mercedes-Benz already generally stands for comfort and this version all the way with many options: automatic air conditioning, cruise control, leather interior with seat heating. The 5-speed automatic gearbox was progressive at the time and is still a very fine and smooth transmission. Coupled with the 2-litre 4-cylinder compressor engine driving the rear wheels, the car is a pleasure to drive with plenty of power: the 164 hp gets the car to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds. By lowering the electrically operated roof, the sun and outdoor air can be enjoyed. An ideal car for great touring or holidaying in. As mentioned, the car is in top condition: rims with no curb damage, beautiful original paintwork and a bone-dry engine compartment. The interior, too, is virtually immaculate. A car in top condition for a fraction of the new price!

General information about the Mercedes-Benz SLK R170
The Mercedes-Benz SLK R170 is the first-generation SLK built from 1995 to 2004. In 2000, the model received a facelift in which an automatic transmission was also added to production. The updated version received optical upgrades and a larger 60-litre fuel tank. The name SLK is an abbreviation for 'Sportlich', 'Leicht' and 'Kurz', or sporty, light and compact. It was one of the first cars with a metal folding roof. With more than 300,000 units, it has been a very successful model for Mercedes.
