We do love the R107 Mercedes-Benz. A solid car with styling queues reminiscent of the famous W113 but with more modern creature comforts, modernised styling, more power and a more comfortable ride.

The W113 "Pagoda" was something special-a real trendsetter with its unique roof and a focus on safety that was way ahead of its time. From its introduction in the '60s, it showed the world how elegance and safety could coexist in a car that was beautiful to look at, and innovative.

But then came the R107, and boy, did it turn things up a notch. Think of the R107 as the cooler, more powerful counterpart that took everything great about the "Pagoda" and just ran with it. Mercedes offered both the straight-six engine, or a new and powerful V8 engine, a real step up in performance from the W113.

Not just that, but it also came packed with even more safety and comfort upgrades-better rollover protection, the option for anti-lock brakes, and a ride that's as smooth as butter, thanks to its refined suspension and extra room.

So while the "Pagoda" will always have its charm and its place in history, the R107 is like stepping into the future of luxury roadsters. It's like the "Pagoda" showed us how it's done, and then the R107 took the baton and made it better.

This R107 is fitted with the V8, a real step up from the straight-six's and our car has a comprehensive service history and meticulous care throughout her life.
