Description

This beautiful, fully rebuilt matching numbers and colours Triumph TR3A has a very interested history. TSU 292 left the factory in May 1960 finished in Black with Red leather upholstery with optional equipment to include heater, tonneau cover, competition front springs and rear shock absorbers. The Triumph TR3A was then shipped out to Japan and supplied new in the City of Kobe. By 1979 the TR was in the USA and was owned by a lady in Red Springs North Carolina where the car spent almost the years. The lady owner, Mrs McManus shipped the car to the U.K. where it has remained ever since

The TR was regularly driven throughout the 1990's and was a participant in events such as the Norwich Union RAC Classic rally. By 2001, the car was a very usable, older restoration and it then moved into the hands of its most recent owner, a classic enthusiast and restorer who stripped this car to the shell and carried out a first class body off restoration. The TR3A was rebuilt over a twenty year period, it began in the early 2000's and was then paused so attention could be given to grandchildren and a growing family. Picked up again in 2021, the chassis was rebuilt, and the car totally nut and bolt rebuilt from the ground up. The engine was completely rebuilt with new main bearings, big end bearings, new timing chain, unleaded head and the crankshaft, flywheel, conrods and pistons all balanced. All major components were renewed, the gearbox and diff overhauled and the car mechanically and electrically renewed.

In 2021 the body was completely re-painted inside and out and final touches to include a full interior re-trim were finished off in 2023. New brightwork, wheels, trims, rubbers and weather equipment beautifully finished off the TR3A restoration and over the past couple of years the car has been used for exhibiting at shows and events. Still presenting very fresh from its recent restoration completion, the car is beautiful in every respect. On the road the TR is a delight with excellent rebuilt running gear, the car handles and performs superbly and does not disappoint. Finished in an outstanding original colour scheme, this is a wonderful car that's been rebuilt over a huge amount of time with true attention to detail.
