The Mercedes-Benz R107 SL series was introduced in 1971 and remained in production until 1989. The model proved to be an outstanding success, with a combined production of no fewer than 237,000 SL and SLC models. The Mercedes-Benz SL range was available in a variety of versions with both six- and eight-cylinder engines. The entry-level model was the 280 SL, equipped with a smooth and reliable six-cylinder engine, which was succeeded by the 300 SL in 1985. At the top of the range was the 500 SL, with the 560 SL only arriving after the facelift. The 500 SL featured the largest engine available before the facelift: the 4,973 cc V8.

This Mercedes-Benz 500 SL was originally delivered in Mexico and retains the desirable short European bumpers from new. It is also equipped with the characteristic rear boot spoiler. Attractive factory options include the original Barock alloy wheels, a driver's airbag, cruise control, electric windows, internally adjustable mirrors (electrically adjustable on the passenger side) and air conditioning.

With 240 horsepower and the renowned smoothness of its V8 engine, this is a wonderful grand touring convertible. The elegant grey paintwork and the luxurious matching grey leather interior are both in very good condition. A detachable hardtop is included with the car. The engine was recently rebuilt in Germany, and the car as a whole is presented in excellent condition. The vehicle is registered in Germany.
