The 2009 Mercedes-Benz Atego is a highly dependable and widely used medium-duty commercial truck, primarily famous in the 7.5 tonne to 16 tonne gross vehicle weight (GVW) categories. It is a workhorse commonly used for urban delivery, box vans, curtain-siders, and recovery. The second generation Atego debuted in 2004 at the International Commercial Vehicle Show. The front section was redesigned, with new H7 clear-glass headlamps, high-set white-glass indicators, wind deflectors and new exterior mirrors. The interior of the four different cab variants was also completely redesigned, with the cockpit more grouped around the driver and a new climate control system which was more similar to the heavy-duty Actros models. A new nine-speed transmission replaced the previous twelve-speed transmission. The new Telligent automated gearshift was also introduced as an optional extra up to 175 kW (238hp) along with a roll-back lock built into the Telligent brake system. Soon after launch, the Atego was linked to the Fleetboard telematics system. The 2009 Mercedes-Benz Atego is a highly dependable and widely used medium-duty commercial truck, primarily famous in the 7.5 tonne to 16 tonne gross vehicle weight (GVW) categories. This 2009 example of the Atego was purchased by our vendor in 2024 and fully converted at great expense to a pick-up truck to assist with managing and moving his collection of 45 cars. Boasting a 4250cc power plant it has been used sparingly in the last two years. Due to being used on a private estate it is not currently with an MoT test certificate and the owner states it has had a pampered life in his tenure. Fully running and ready for use commercially or privately after an MoT is granted. This is offered without reserve and as a 7.5 tonne example will carry a payload capacity of 2,200 kg to 3,800 kg which allows it to carry most everyday passenger cars, SUVs, and light commercial vehicles.
