From its introduction in 1970 until 1981, the original Range Rover was initially only available in two-door guise. Designed to blend rugged utility with understated luxury, its boxy aluminium body, permanent four-wheel drive, and long travel suspension made it equally capable on farms or motorways. The smooth V8 under the bonnet meant that there was plenty of power beneath the driver's right foot as well. Inside, upright seating and simple trim reflected purpose over flash.
