Description
Well-maintained collector's vehicle:
The Italian automaker De Tomaso partnered with Ford in 1969 to gain a larger market and, together with Ford, developed the Pantera – a revised and everyday-usable version of the Mangusta, which was intended to be built in larger numbers. The Pantera was similar to the Mangusta, but with its own body and an improved chassis (better weight distribution). In 1971, 2,506 units were built. The production Panteras were manufactured at Vignale from 1971 to 1974, and were produced entirely until April 1971; a total of 382 units are estimated to have been produced. From May 1971, De Tomaso had its own production line in Modena, where the bodies prepared by Vignale were handcrafted. The transition between the Panteras produced exclusively by Vignale and the later models completed by de Tomaso can be seen externally in the door handles. The pure Vignale models have push-button door handles, like the predecessor, the Mangusta; they are known in the USA as Push-Button Panteras. This vehicle is a Pantera of 382 Push-Button Panteras. With chassis number 01028, it is probably one of the oldest Panteras in Europe. The vehicle has a Le Mans gear ratio, and the original is also present! The vehicle was restored by BRAUN Motorsport from 2019 to 2020. A new chassis was installed, and all tires were replaced. The Weber carburetor system was completely overhauled, the cooling system was completely replaced, a large brake system was installed, and the engine was overhauled. Since this restoration, the vehicle has been stored in a showroom and has only driven approximately 100 km. The body of this vehicle was completely restored in 1988; new panels were welded in, and the vehicle was galvanized and treated with a cavity. The car has a large (racing) brake system. I've owned the Pantera since 1979; the first owner was "Jackie Stewart," Formula 1 World Champion. The car is being sold due to its age; it doesn't have to be sold at any price! Two large rear wings and many Pantera spare parts are also included!
