Description

The first generation of the BMW 3 Series (E21), was produced from 1975 to 1983. It marked a pivotal moment for BMW, setting the foundation for what would become one of the brand's most successful and enduring model lines. Introduced as a successor to the BMW 2002, the E21 offered a blend of sporty performance and everyday usability, catering to a growing market for compact luxury saloons. The E21 featured a range of inline-four and inline-six engines, which provided a balance of efficiency and power. Its design, characterised by the iconic kidney grille and a sleek, minimalist profile, was the work of Paul Bracq and Manfred Rennen. The E21 also pioneered the use of the driver's-focused cockpit layout, a hallmark of BMW interiors. Throughout its production run, the E21 earned acclaim for its handling dynamics and build quality, solidifying BMW's reputation for producing driver-oriented cars and setting the stage for the successive generations of the 3 Series.

Originally registered on 10th May 1982, this BMW presents very well in Savanna Beige with Nylonbraun cloth interior. The car was sent to Munich Legends in February 2023 and has £5,509 spent ensuring this six-cylinder BMW is kept to a very high standard. Work included replacing front and rear shock absorbers, rebuilding of the brake calipers, converting the rear brakes to disc brakes and four new tyres. Without doubt these are great cars, the 1990cc engine providing ample power and the manual gearbox makes this a real fun car to drive. Our vendor is a BMW collector who has thoroughly enjoyed the car for the past year, but has managed to acquire one of his dream BMWs, so this lovely E21 is now leaving the stable to make space for the new arrival. The previous owner was just as fastidious and clearly ensured the car was maintained to a high standard and the bodywork, together with the interior trim is in commensurate condition to the rest of the car. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a number of invoices, we are advised this 320 drives excellently, covering around 6,000 miles in the past 12 months and can be enjoyed immediately. Now MoT and tax exempt, this BMW really has stood the test of time. Consigned by Fraser Smith
