Description

Delivered new in November 1927, this 4 ½ Litre was the seventh built and remains a very original example. Fitted new with a Vanden Plas Sports four-seater, this was replaced in the 1960s by the coachbuilder Meynell Phillips, noted by John Green as being one of the best in his time. Rebuilt by a leading marque specialist, she became a Kensington Palace concours d’Elegance champion in 1966. Previous wins also included Blenheim in consecutive years, 1966 and 1967 and Goodwood Estate with a 2nd place podium finish in 1967. ‘Mabel’ also received an invitation to support the 1969 Golden Jubilee Run and the Bentley Jubilee Silverstone parade, carrying Graham Hill and was also displayed in the ballroom at the Dorchester Hotel. Kept in excellent mechanical condition in recent years with no expense spared, including new white metal to the engine bottom end, this Bentley is a great opportunity to be enjoyed by her next custodian.
