Description

This stunning, show standard Austin Healey 3000 BT7 MKII was built in June 1961 and was delivered new to an American soldier living in Dusseldorf, Germany. The first owner moved back to the US in 1962 and shipped the car from Europe. The Austin Healey then spent 47 years in the USA, eventually leaving Kentucky in 2009 and heading back to Europe.

In 2009, back on European ground the car was then subject of the most magnificent ground up restoration to show standard condition. The Healey was painstakingly restored with no expense spared by its Czech Republic based owner. The long term rebuild included a full mechanical overhaul to include engine rebuild, gearbox and rear axle strip and rebuild, all new electrics, renewed brightwork, full re-trim and the body was stripped down to the bare shell and painted inside, outside and underneath. The Healey was then built up and finished to a top class level.

By 2016 the Healey was back on the road and covered very little mileage before coming to us in 2021. The Healey had been superbly maintained and it's meticulous long term owner in Europe kept the car first class. Since supplying the car in 2021 to the most reason, one UK owner, the car has covered less than 100 miles. The Austin Healey was purchased with a view to taking it to Portugal but plans changed and the car has remained in the UK. Several years on since completion the Healey presents as a recently completed rebuild, its beautiful in terms of detail, bodywork, panel gaps, paint finish, chrome and trim. The body colour underside and chassis are polished and beautifully presented. The engine bay and boot area are beautifully kept and on the road the car does not disappoint. The 2912cc six cylinder engine performs perfectly with excellent oil pressure, superb power delivery and the four speed gearbox with overdrive is a delight to use. The Healey is first class in every respect and is absolutely perfectly for long distance touring on the Continent.

This is a top class example on the button, driving superbly and presented in pristine condition throughout. This is a delightful car to own, one that has clearly had no expense spared during a full nut and bolt rebuild by a meticulous long term owner.
