Description

CRD123 BMW R100 2021 Brand new just 171 kms.

The bobber style originated in the USA during the ’40s and 50’s when American soldiers began stripping parts to lighten their motorcycles. Since then it has become a mainstream trend in customizations, characterized by very simple lines on low bikes with similar-sized rims front and back and high profile tires. In many cases, the fenders were removed from post-war Harley-Davidsons because their owners wanted to set themselves apart.

As always, Cafe Racer Dreams wanted to offer its own interpretation of this classic style and add a European touch in one of its latest creations: #CRD123. This motorcycle joins a list of models that are leaving the shop this year and distinguished by this unique aesthetic, but, of course, there is an infinity of details that make a bike special. The combination of the classic and the modern, which we have become accustomed to at Cafe Racer Dreams, is also evident in #CRD123, incorporating inverted Suzuki GSX-R 1000 forks, with Tokico radial calipers and 320 mm discs, anchored to a very special yoke that is the star of the front end. This piece was custom designed and CNC machined in Alzintok 75 aluminum, in this case with turrets to fit the wide handlebars but with different designs to come for future creations by CRD.

The classic part is the bullet-shaped headlight with a built-in, retro Daytona clock along with indicators with a similar silhouette to the headlight. To complete the look of the front end of the bike there are brown Biltwell grips that match the tank pads made in the same fabric as the solo seat, in both cases with a rubber seal for a perfect fit, both for the pads to the tank and the seat to the chassis. The gas tank, in an elegant grey, is higher than the small seat and so gives that classic downward line of the bobber style.

The boxer motor, completely restored, also has some subtle but carefully worked details such as the rough and highly durable Cerakote coating on the carburetors in matte black for a striking visual effect. On this occasion, it was decided to go with long, chrome batwing tailpipes to give a distinctive sound to #CRD123 and open-air filters to add to the unique sound as the intake also affects the sound of the motor.

The back end has a minimalist look and in this line, there are a pair of slick super-small rear lights from Kellerman that are both taillights and indicators. The plate is fixed to the long rear fender with the same style with an aesthetic flow that matches the rest of the bike and with a customized frame front and back.

On this occasion, Firestone Deluxe tires fit like a glove to complete the classic line of the bike as well as a set of black, shrouded Hagon shock absorbers. The riding posture is very natural thanks to the Tarozzi footpegs and the Renthal handlebars. #CRD123 is a very CRD nod to the bobber style and another customization to add to this 2021 season.
