The TR 3 was only different in detail from its predecessor and was introduced in September 1955. 13,377 units were built.
The main changes were:

10 hp more power than the TR2
Larger carburettors.
Improved cylinder head.
A different grille (the TR2 only had a 'gaping hole').
Overdrive available at extra cost.
Rear seat available at extra cost.
From 1956: Disc brakes on the front wheels.

Triumph TR 3A
In the autumn of 1957 the 'new model' appeared, although there were no structural changes it was nevertheless given a different name: TR 3a with the main changes:
Redesigned front.
Smaller headlights.
Wide grille.
Outside door handles (previously the doors could only be opened from the inside, or from the outside through the folding window.)
Boot lid handle (instead of two cheap bolts).

In terms of finish and instruments, the car was modernized.
58,309 units of this model were produced up to 1962.

This TR3 A presented here is a body-off restored where everything is correct. Under the hood you can see an almost new engine that has also been completely overhauled. Furthermore, the car is equipped with a black leather interior with a white stripe. The Triumph has beautiful chrome wire wheels with Vredestein Classic tires. After restoration, the TR has only driven a few kilometers. A beautiful TR3 A for the enthusiast of a real open English sports car.
